Roberto Rocca Education Program
The Roberto Rocca Education Program is an initiative to provide scholarships and fellowships to talented undergraduate and graduate students of engineering and applied sciences. Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and professional potential as well as commitment with the country’s economic and industrial development.
Since 2011, 15 scholarships were granted in Guatemala to students from the country’s most renowned universities, with which Ternium has a solid relationship aimed to strengthen and support the careers of young professionals.
The Excellence Scholarship Program awards and encourages outstanding students committed to their educational process. They scholarship scheme is designed for Ternium employees as well as their children, covering a wide academic range, from high school to undergraduate degrees, from specialization diplomas to master studies, among others.
In 2015, Ternium granted:
- In Guatemala, 6 scholarships to employees’ children and 4 scholarships to employees.
- In El Salvador, 2 scholarships to employees.
- In Costa Rica, 2 scholarships to employees’ children.
In addition, Ternium in Guatemala maintains a close relationship with the Technical Institute of Training and Productivity INTECAP supporting with scholarships the nine best students of technical majors such as Industrial Maintenance Technician and Technician in Electricity.
Ternium cares about the health of their employees and their families. Since 2013, every year a Health Fair takes place in Guatemala providing the company’s staff and their families with several essential health services free of charge, such as Pediatrics, General Medicine, Ophthalmology, Dental, Pharmacy and Nutrition as well as the Influenza vaccine. More than a thousand people have benefited from this initiative since its implementation.
