Iron ore
Mineral containing enough iron, mainly as oxide, to be a commercially viable source of the element for use in steelmaking.
Pellets
Fine particles of iron ore agglomerated with different bonding agents, with additives (limestone, dolomite, soild fuel and others) and consolidated at high temperature into hard round balls for blast furnace or direct reduction feed.
Coke
Produced in our coke ovens plants, with byproduct recovery, it is obtained following a careful selection of carbons which meet the strictest requirements set by the smelting industry in terms of its chemical and granulometric properties.
Pig iron
Product obtained from reducing iron ore in Blast Furnaces. The versatility of the manufacturing process allows for the production of different grades of material according to the specific needs of the smelting industry.
DRI
Metal product obtained from reducing iron ore or pellets at temperatures lower than those required to for iron fusion. It is iron-rich enough to be used as a scrap substitute in electric furnace steelmaking
Granulated slag
Produced in bast furnaces, slag quality is able to comply with the growing demands of the cement industry on an on-going basis. Its basic atributess are vitreous index, sulphur content, slag index and metal content. |
