These are solid rectangular products whose width is vastly superior to their thickness. They may be presented rolled up in coils or sheets.
Hot rolled strip
Hot rolled products are manufactured applying a thermomechanical process where thickness of slabs is strongly reduced at high temperatures. They are used by a variety of industrial consumers in applications such as the manufacturing of wheels, auto parts, pipes, gas cylinders, etc. They are also directly used for the construction of buildings, bridges and railroad cars, and for the chassis of trucks and automobiles. Hot rolled products can be supplied as coils or as sheets cut to a specific length. These products also serve as inputs for the production of cold rolled products.
Cold rolled strip
Hot rolled pickled strips go through a cold rolling process where reduced thickness, better drawabilty and improved surface are obtained. This products are applied in a wide range of industries like automotive, electric appliances, enamelling, electric motors.
More information
| • |
Full hard: Cold rolled, very stiff, not annealed semi finished product appropriate for hot dip galvanizing or annealing processes.
|
| • |
Annealed: Through a heat treatment process previously cold-rolled steel recovers ductility being suitable for subsequent forming operations.
|
| • |
Black plate: Cold rolled and annealed strip appropriate for subsequent processing, in tin plate and chrome plating lines.
|
Coated Steels
Steel products covered with another material (zinc, tin, chrome or organic coatings) primarily for increasing corrosion resistance.
More information
| • |
Hot Dip Galvanized: Hot or cold rolled steel sheet coated in both sides with a zinc layer through its immersion in a molten metal bath to improve corrosion protection.
|
| • |
Galvannealed: Hot dip galvanized steel coated with a zinc-iron diffusion alloy produced by re-heating of the strip after immersion in the metal bath. The Galvannealed steel has an iron content in its coating of approximately 10%, which renders it particularly appropriate for welding, especially in automotive industry applications.
|
| • |
Cincalum - Galval: Hot dip galvanized steel coated with a 55% aluminum and zinc alloy with high corrosion resistance. The Aluminum/Zinc coating offers combined barrier and galvanic protection that improve product performance for construction applications in most environments including rural, industrial and marine sites.
|
| • |
Electrogalvanized: Cold-rolled steel coated with a thin layer of zinc applied by an electroplating continuous process, in one or both sides, aimed at increasing corrosion resistance. These products are widely used in the automotive and home appliance industries.
|
| • |
Prepainted: Organic coated steel products produced in continuous painting lines. They offer high corrosion resistance with a number of different aesthetic possibilities which make them ideal for the construction and home appliance industries. Prepainted products combine the high strength of steel with the attractive colors and enhanced corrosion protection of paints.

| • |
Tin plate: Low-carbon thin gauge cold rolled steel coated with a tin layer applied by an electroplating continuous process, with improved corrosion resistance for application in the food canning and packing industies.
|
| • |
Tin free: Low-carbon thin gauge cold rolled steel, coated with a thin chrome layer applied by an electroplating continuous process with application in food canning, can ends, closures & crowns for containers.
