— Ternium CEO
For the first time, the 2019 Sustainability Report identified key economic, social and environmental topics through a combination of industry research and benchmarking, international standards and priority subjects to evaluate Ternium's performance. Their priority was then established through a stakeholder consultation process that gathered 1,256 responses from employees, suppliers, clients, community organizations, corporative associations, investors, press, and academic institutions.
In 2019, Ternium joined the UN Global Compact Initiative with a commitment to integrate its principles into the company's strategy, culture and day-to-day operations. Ternium has engaged in collaborative projects to advance the broader development goals of the United Nations, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
