Ternium is one of the most friendly LGBTQIA+ companies in Brasil

Share

For the second year in a row, Ternium Brasil has been recognized as one of the best companies for LGBTQIA+ professionals to work for in the third edition of the HRC Equidade BR survey.

The Mais Diversidade Institute produces the survey, the social arm of Mais Diversidade, whose mission is to promote quality work among LGBTQIA+ people, in partnership with the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) and the LGBTI+ Business and Rights Forum.

On Thursday 27th Ternium Brasil’s CEO, Titus Schaar, received Mais Diversidade’s CEO, Ricardo Salles, and the institution's Director of Strategic Consulting and Communication, Luana Corrêa. During the visit, they presented the certification and discussed topics such as the importance of actions to promote a more diverse environment in the company, especially with affirmative inclusion and equity projects.

"Promoting diversity is one of our commitments. And for that, it's not enough to hire LGBTQIA+ professionals, but also to create a workspace of respect and inclusion, as we are doing here at Ternium Brasil. It's a path we're following, and this recognition shows that we're making progress in producing a safe and inclusive environment," says Titus Schaar.

Representatives of the +Diversity Institute visited the Santa Cruz Industrial Center on June 27

To promote inclusion, Ternium develops initiatives such as the Diversity+ Program, which creates spaces for reflection to discuss topics such as unconscious biases, inclusive leadership, ageism, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression for all operations. Ternium also has a Diversity Policy and a harassment-free environment, promoting awareness-raising, training, and actions to foster a more inclusive environment.Vanessa Antoine, diversity ally and head of Talent Acquisition & Dev in Human Resources at Ternium Brazil was also present at the meeting and highlighted the importance of everyone being engaged in diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.

"All Ternium employees are invited to participate in our diversity and inclusion initiatives. Everyone's participation is fundamental to building a more inclusive and diverse work environment. Together, we can make a difference," he said.

The "HRC Equidade BR, Best Companies for LGBTQIA+ People to Work For" survey is an important analytical tool for companies to assess their practices and plan improvements and advances, evaluating the equity and inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people in work environments in Brazil. This certification has been achieved for three consecutive years at Ternium Mexico and Argentina.
