Ternium has been nominated for the 2026 Steelie Awards, the steel industry's most prestigious awards, in the Excellence in Clean Steel Production category.
The World Steel Association (worldsteel) has announced the nominees for the 2026 Steelie Awards, which recognize projects that make outstanding contributions to the steel industry in areas such as sustainability, innovation, communications, and low-carbon steel production, among others.
This year, Ternium is a finalist in the Excellence in Clean Steel Production category with the project “From Dust to Trust: Autonomous Emission Reduction and Intelligent Suppression”, which showcases the AERIS (Autonomous Emission Reduction and Intelligent Suppression) system for managing fugitive emissions at the company's facilities. Tenaris, also part of the Techint Group, was recognized in the same category for its project “Tenaris Decarbonisation Strategy on Renewable Electricity.”
In addition, Usiminas was nominated in the Excellence in People category for “Steel Minds, Stronger Futures: The USIMINAS Mental Health Programme.”
Participating in the Steelie Awards and achieving at least one nomination is a requirement for obtaining the Sustainability Champion certification, a distinction that Ternium has maintained for eight consecutive years.
The winners will be announced on October 12 at an event taking place in India.
