Ternium CEO Máximo Vedoya spoke at the online graduation ceremony, broadcast live from the University Plant, and acknowledged the efforts and success achieved by the new graduates.

July 16 saw the class of 2021, the third generation of Roberto Rocca Technical School (ETRR) students, graduate following three years of study (2018-2021), a group of 118 young technicians from the baccalaureate degrees in Mechatronics and Electromechanics.

The online ceremony was attended by students and their families, who listened to Máximo Vedoya, Ternium CEO, as he praised the young people for the efforts they made to adapt to the new reality in the pandemic context and encouraged them to continue their path of professional development.

“They managed to make it through despite having to deal with a new, different, and uncertain reality. This ability to adapt, to continue going to class and doing their homework in the face of all these difficulties, is resilience, a tool that will be essential for their future as they make their way through a world in constant and accelerated change,” said Vedoya.

“Never give up on your dreams and do everything with passion. Don’t forget that passion is the fuel that drives us every day!” added César Jiménez, executive president of Ternium Mexico, at the event attended online by over 150 people.

María del Cielo Martínez, a Mechatronics graduate who graduated top of her class, gave a speech on behalf of her classmates. "I can tell you that this was the best decision of my life, as since I entered this school, I’ve had one opportunity after another for growth."

María is a shining example of Ternium's development and commitment to education, as she obtained a Merit Award when still at high school. She was an intern in the Quality area at the Ternium Industrial Center and recently obtained a Roberto Rocca Education Program scholarship, an initiative driven by Grupo Techint to help outstanding young people complete their university studies in the area of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

María del Cielo Martínez, top of her class, gave a speech on behalf of all her classmates.
